New Delhi: The Ministry of Mines, Government of India, organized a Special Webinar today to explore avenues for advancing research and innovation in the mining and mineral processing sector. The webinar was attended by Start-ups, MSMEs, and Individual Innovators working in the Mining & Metallurgical sector, a PIB press release stated.
The government has launched the Promotion of Research and Innovation in Start-ups and MSMEs in the mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, and recycling sector (S&T-PRISM) to provide funding opportunities for startups and MSMEs working in the mining sector.
The S&T-PRISM program has a goal of bridging the gap between research and development and commercialization and promoting a complete value chain in the mining and mineral sector. The program is expected to benefit 200 participants, including startups, experts, and industry representatives, from the mining and mineral processing industry.
Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre, Nagpur, an autonomous body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines is responsible for implementing the S&T-PRISM program. The S&T-PRISM program is open to registered startups and MSMEs of North East India and women-led enterprises.
The deadline for submitting fresh proposals under the S&T-PRISM program is 30 April 2024.
