Imphal, Apr 13 (PTI) Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh on Monday said the state government would extend all possible assistance to ensure the timely completion of the new terminal building of Imphal airport.

Singh visited the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport to review the progress of the ongoing construction work and assess its current status.

During the inspection, officials of the Airports Authority of India briefed the CM on the progress and key aspects of the project.

Interacting with AAI officials, Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the project, stating that all necessary help would be provided for its timely completion.

Once completed, the new terminal will enable round-the-clock operations, extending airport functioning from the current 12-14 hours to 24 hours daily. It will also substantially increase capacity from 1.39 million passengers per annum (MPPA) to 5 MPPA.

Additionally, parking infrastructure will see a major boost, expanding from the existing capacity of around 100 cars to 1,089 cars in the new terminal complex. PTI CORR SOM
