Thane, Apr 12 (PTI) A man and a three-year-old girl were injured after a portion of plaster and a ceiling fan collapsed on them in a chawl in Maharashtra’s Thane district in the wee hours of Sunday, an official said.

The incident occurred around 3.30 am in a ground-floor room of Tambewadi Chawl on Mumbra bypass road, said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic Disaster Management Cell.

Asif Khan (32) suffered a head injury, while Asma Khan (3) sustained wounds to her legs, and they were immediately shifted to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa for treatment, Tadvi said.

A team from the disaster management cell and the fire department rushed to the spot and cleared the debris, he said, adding that the condition of the chawl is being examined. PTI COR ARU
