Jamtara, Mar 14 (PTI) A man from West Bengal and his two children were found dead in a well in Jharkhand’s Jamtara district on Saturday, a police officer said.
The bodies were recovered from the well at Mudaberia Ashram in Bagdehri police station area.
The deceased was identified as Laxman Murmu (50), who hailed from Murgthali village in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. His daughter was aged seven, and his son was 11 years old, the officer said.
“The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The man, originally from Bengal, had remarried after the death of his first wife,” Major Kumar, SDPO of Nala, told PTI.
The police have launched a detailed investigation, Kumar added.
In another incident in Gumla district, the body of a 6-year-old boy, who was allegedly murdered by a man, was recovered from a well in Kasira village under Sadar Police Station limits.
The police have arrested a man identified as Kulbhushan Mahli (35) in connection with the case, said Mahendra Karmali, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station.
The accused killed the victim on Friday and dumped his body in the well following a personal dispute with the victim’s family over some issues. The police are investigating the matter, he added. PTI RPS RBT RPS RG
