Mumbai, Mar 26 (PTI) Police have arrested a man here for allegedly cheating several persons by promising them government jobs while claiming to know senior Maharashtra ministers and officials.
Tushar Sanjay Kadam, the accused, allegedly collected a total of Rs 42.5 lakh in this way, promising the victims jobs in the Fire Brigade, Municipal Corporation and the Railways, said an official of Dahisar police station in the city.
He even issued fake appointment letters, the official added.
According to complainant Deepak Tanaji Yadav, Kadam told him that he worked in the Mantralaya (state secretariat) and had close ties with influential political leaders and senior officials.
In 2023, Kadam allegedly told Yadav that he could help him secure a permanent job, but failed to deliver on the promise despite taking money from him.
In his complaint, Yadav alleged that he and some others had paid Kadam a total of Rs 42.5 lakh.
