Chennai, Mar 12 (PTI) The Madras High Court on Thursday granted an interim stay on a city civil court proceedings in the PMK leadership dispute case and held it was necessary that party general secretary (Vadivel Ravanan) be made party to the proceedings.
Ravanan had moved the Madras High Court seeking to implead himself in the case filed by party founder S Ramadoss against his son Anbumani Ramadoss, after the city civil court rejected his submission.
When the case came up for hearing, Justice T V Tamilselvi said “as on date, he (Vadivel Ravanan) is holding the post of general secretary of PMK. Considering his claim, he is the necessary party to the proceedings. Without considering his impleading petition, the trial court is not permitted to proceed with other application, otherwise it will lead to miscarriage of justice.” The court directed Ramadoss, Anbumani and the Election Commission of India, to respond to Ravanan’s plea and posted the matter for April 10 for further hearing.
