Samastipur (Bihar) Apr 3 (PTI) A 30-year-old loco pilot was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants in Bihar’s Samastipur district on Friday, police said.

The incident occurred around 10 am in the Tajpur police station area when the person was returning home on his two-wheeler, a senior officer said.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod Kapar (30), a loco pilot with the railways, he said.

Sadar-1 SDPO Sanjay Kumar Pandey said, “Unidentified assailants shot the loco pilot dead in the Tajpur police station area. A police team has initiated an investigation. We are questioning locals and scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the armed men. Raids are being conducted.” Pandey said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

According to locals, Kapar was returning home from duty on his motorcycle when the assailants fired at him. He sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. PTI CORR SUK BDC
