Chandigarh, Mar 16 (PTI) Light rains lashed some places in Punjab on Monday, causing a drop in temperatures by a few notches.
According to the local Met office, Pathankot and Rupnagar in Punjab received 14 mm and 9.5 mm of rain, respectively. Hoshiarpur and Amritsar also witnessed rainfall activity.
Maximum temperatures in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala were 21, 21.6 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively, which were up to five degrees below the season’s normal.
In the neighbouring Haryana, the maximum temperature was recorded at 27.3 degrees Celsius in Ambala, 27 degrees in Hisar, 27.2 degrees in Karnal and 33 degrees in Narnaul.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, witnessed a maximum temperature of 26.4 degrees Celsius. PTI CHS RUK RUK
