Mumbai, April 7 (PTI) A leopard was spotted inside a residential society near the IT park in Malad (east) area of Mumbai in the early hours of Tuesday, a forest official said.

CCTV cameras at Raheja Heights captured the feline roaming in the parking area between 3 AM and 4 AM. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.

Residents claimed that sightings of leopards were not new and that the big cats had made fleeting appearances in surrounding areas on multiple occasions in the past.

Locals have urged the Forest Department and authorities to take immediate preventive measures to ensure public safety and avoid any potential human-wildlife conflict.

Officials have advised citizens to remain alert and cautious, especially during late-night and early morning hours when wildlife movement is more likely. PTI ZA NSK
