Pakur (Jharkhand), Mar 30 (PTI) A lawyer was arrested on the charge of sexually assaulting a law student for months in Jharkhand’s Pakur district, police said on Monday.

The police arrested the lawyer after the victim, pursuing an LLB course, lodged a complaint with Pakur town police station against him on Sunday.

The victim had come in contact with the accused around seven months ago when he convinced her to guide her in her studies.

The victim, who is married, had visited Murmu’s house to consult regarding her course when Murmu had allegedly raped her and videographed it, according to the complaint.

He continued to sexually assault her for seven months, threatening to make the video viral if she did not obey him or disclose the matter to anyone.

The victim registered a case with the police in this regard on Sunday.
