Devi said that on the 200th birth anniversary year, the nation reaffirms its resolve to build an egalitarian, educated and empowered India by imbibing his ideals.
Phule was born on April 11, 1827, in Maharashtra and died on November 28, 1890.
Devi also shared Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s article on Phule, saying, “Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s life is a unique example of dedication, social justice and social transformation through education.” “On the occasion of his 200th birth anniversary year, we reaffirm our resolve to build an egalitarian, educated and empowered India by imbibing his ideals.
