Ranchi, Apr 7 (PTI) The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday pulled up DGP Tadasha Mishra over the alleged assault on a relative of a petitioner whose 18-year-old daughter has been missing from Bokaro since July 31, 2025.

A division bench headed by Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad questioned Mishra on why criminal action had not been initiated against Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh in connection with the incident.

Rekha Devi, a Bokaro resident, had filed a habeas corpus petition, alleging that her uncle-in-law was picked up by police and subjected to third-degree treatment, sustaining serious injuries and currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Ranchi.

Mishra has been asked to again appear before the bench on April 9 with the report.

The petitioner’s counsel also told the court that despite an FIR at Pindrajoda police station, no concrete steps have been taken to locate the missing girl. PTI CORR NAM MNB
