Lohardaga, Mar 13 (PTI) Two drug peddlers were arrested with 433 kg of cannabis worth over Rs 2.16 crore in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga district, police said on Friday.
The consignment was seized from a truck near Cutcherry More Railway overbridge during a vehicle checking drive, following a tip-off, he said.
“The recovered cannabis was stored in 154 packets inside a box in the truck bound for Uttar Pradesh,” said Ratnesh Mohan Thakur, Officer-in-Charge of Lohardaga police station.
The accused hail from Bihar’s Saran and Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, he said.
The duo has been sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway, Thakur added. PTI RPS RBT
