Jaisalmer: Amid a complete blackout, the border districts of Rajasthan are now under high red alert.
This happened after Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan un-Marsoos against India, which started Saturday, following two days of drone attacks and ceasefire violations.
In Barmer, the Rajasthan government has provided an additional 15 fire engines for medical and civil security. At the same time, water tanks have been filled in the Barmer fire department, and health services in the district hospital are on alert mode.
Forty-three firemen have deployed to Barmer, and the vacant administrative posts have been filled, with one SDM, three BDOs, and eight Tehsildars now appointed.
Early morning on Saturday, projectile debris was found in the border districts of Rajasthan. Jaisalmer turned into a deserted city. All shops in the market are closed, labourers are leaving the city, and all tourist spots are shut down, including the Jaisalmer Fort and the War Museum.
Explosions were reported in the Uttarlai area of Barmer around 5 am, after which debris was found scattered in nearby fields.
Some debris was also found in Mangliyo ki Dhani in Jaisalmer. A police and Army team reached there and took control of the area.
In Jaisalmer’s Pokhran area, a metallic object fell in Jaimla village in the early morning. Locals informed the Police and Army, and the matter is under investigation. It’s the second consecutive day that Pokhran was attacked.
Last night, Pokhran was under drone attack around 8:30 pm. However, the Indian air defence system thwarted the drones in the air before they reached the surface.
While in Guda village of Balotra, Barmer, a similar object was found in the agricultural field. Local authorities requested residents to avoid the area.
