Srinagar, Mar 24 (PTI) Shia organisation Anjuman Sharie Shian on Tuesday formed a panel of lawyers who will provide legal help to persons facing legal proceedings due to their participation in anti-US and anti-Israel protests in Kashmir earlier this month.
The panel of lawyers was formed after a meeting chaired by its president, Aga Syed Hassan, in Budgam.
“During the meeting, it was decided that those individuals who are facing legal cases due to recent turmoil of Iran-Israel war and are unable to hire lawyers because of financial constraints, shall be provided assistance through an expert panel of lawyers,” the organisation said in a statement.
Hassan’s son and PDP MLA from Budgam Aga Muntazir, who is also a lawyer, will provide assistance to those facing cases in the Patiala House court in Delhi.
Other lawyers will be available at courts in Srinagar, Budgam, Magam, Beerwah and Chadoora, the Anjuman said.
