Rishikesh, Mar 12 (PTI) More than 1,500 participants, including several foreign nationals, have registered for the upcoming International Yoga Festival scheduled to begin here on March 16, officials said on Thursday.
The week-long event, organised by the Uttarakhand government, will conclude on March 22.
Prateek Jain, Managing Director of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), told PTI that 1,535 people have registered for the festival so far. “Of the total participants, 35 are foreign nationals,” Jain said.
GMVN is serving as the nodal agency for the festival and has partnered with 25 yoga institutions across Rishikesh, Dehradun and Haridwar.
According to officials, the festival schedule includes yoga classes during the morning and afternoon sessions. The evening sessions will consist of cultural programmes and musical performances. PTI DPT AKY
