New Delhi: India had its largest presence ever at Heimtextil 2025, the world’s leading home textiles fair, held in Frankfurt. The minister of textiles inaugurated the India Pavilion, showcasing the nation’s growing strength in the textile industry, a PIB press release stated.

The minister emphasized India’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and global partnerships in his address to international home textile exporters, importers and manufacturers. He invited participating countries to attend Bharat Tex 2025, exploring investment in India’s thriving textile ecosystem.

During an investors’ meeting, the minister highlighted India’s economic growth and rising foreign direct investment (FDI) over the past decade. He urged investors to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the “Make in India” initiative, emphasizing India’s emergence as a competitive manufacturing hub. The minister also warned that staying out of India’s market could lead to a fear of missing out, urging investors to “Come and invest in India — Make in India, Make for the World.”

The minister also met with the Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association and IVGT, Germany, urging them to strengthen their engagement with India’s textile sector. He emphasized that India is one of the largest textile machinery buyers, citing the success of a German sewing thread manufacturer already thriving in India. He encouraged other machinery manufacturers to explore and expand their investments in the Indian market.

The Indian delegation, led by the minister, toured various stalls at the exhibition, engaging with exhibitors and highlighting the craftsmanship of Indian exporters. The participation of industry leaders and exporters underscored India’s determination to solidify its position as a global leader in the textile industry.
