Indian Coast Guard commanders gather for strategic conference

New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders’ Conference 2024 is being held in New Delhi from 24 September, onwards. The conference is bringing together the senior commanders of the ICG for a three-day period. The purpose of the conference is to discuss strategic, operational, and administrative matters in the backdrop of the evolving geopolitical landscape, a PIB press release stated.

The conference was inaugurated by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, at the Coast Guard Headquarters. The Minister paid tributes to the bravery and dedication of the ICG personnel. He also highlighted the importance of technology in the changing maritime security landscape. The Minister stressed the need for the ICG to strengthen its capabilities in the areas of artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and drones.

The 41st edition of the Indian Coast Guard Commanders’ Conference serves as a vital forum for ICG Commanders to engage in meaningful discussions on strategic, operational & administrative matters. The conference will provide a platform for the development of new strategies and the strengthening of the force. It is also a forum for promoting the growth and infrastructure development of the ICG. The conference is expected to address the challenges faced by the ICG in the changing maritime security landscape and ensure the security of the country’s maritime interests.

The ICG Commanders’ Conference 2024 will focus on the growing importance of technology in the maritime security landscape. The conference will provide a platform for the ICG to strengthen its capabilities and better meet the challenges of the future. The conference provides a platform for senior ICG leaders to meticulously evaluate key operational, material, logistical, HR development, training, and administrative initiatives undertaken over the past year.
