Kolkata, Apr 4 (PTI) IIM Calcutta Director Alok Kumar Rai on Saturday said the institute remains committed to shaping professionals who lead with integrity and purpose in a complex world.

“At IIM Calcutta, we strive to nurture leaders who are not only professionally competent but also socially conscious and globally relevant. As our graduating students step forward, we are confident they will lead with integrity, adaptability, and a deep sense of purpose,” Rai said at the institute’s 61st Annual Convocation here.

The ceremony was attended by Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power, who was the chief guest, along with M Jagadesh Kumar, Chairperson of the Board of Governors.

Addressing the gathering, Kumar described the institute as a distinguished centre of learning that has contributed significantly to national development over the decades.

“I am sure the graduating students will continue that tradition and, together with their talent, will excel in their leadership positions with judgment, character, and courage. The choices they make in their personal lives, workplaces, and communities will shape the future of the country,” he said, wishing them a bright future.

A total of 459 students from the flagship two-year MBA programme and 90 students from the one-year MBAEx programme were awarded degrees, while 40 participants of the PGPEX-VLM programme received diplomas.

The institute also conferred PhD degrees on 12 scholars. PTI SUS RG
