Shimla, March 16 (PTI) A key interstate drug peddler who is mainly involved in trafficking chitta (adulterated heroin) has been arrested from Chandigarh, police said on Monday.
The accused Sanjay alias Ganji, hailing from Mauli Jagran Complex in Chandigarh, has been involved in supplying chitta in the state and in Shimla.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shimla, Gaurav Singh, said that Ganji’s involvement was revealed after the district police arrested three individuals with 12.36 g chitta from Rampur on March 12, 2026.
He said that during the investigation, police, through backward linkages, identified the accused as the main supplier of chitta, and he was operating from Chandigarh.
A police team was sent to Chandigarh from where he was arrested, the officer said, adding that further investigation is underway. PTI COR OZ OZ
