Shimla, Mar 30 (PTI) BJP state president Dr Rajeev Bindal on Monday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing special assistance of Rs 3,920 crore to Himachal Pradesh under “Pride of Hills: Special Development Assistance for Hill States” (SASCI 2026-27) by the central government.
Bindal, in a press statement issued here, stated this assistance is not merely a financial package, but a symbol of the prime minister’s special affection and sensitivity toward Himachal Pradesh.
He said that hill states face numerous obstacles to development due to geographical difficulties, limited resources, low population density, and limited revenue sources. The central government has taken this historic decision.
He stated that the central government has allocated this amount to Himachal out of a total special provision of Rs 25,000 crore, which is extremely important for the state.
“This amount will provide a new impetus to the development of infrastructure, roads, health services, education, water supply, and other developmental projects in the state,” he added.
Taking a jibe at the Congress-led state government, he said that while Congress is burdening the state with debt, the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, is continuously working to strengthen Himachal Pradesh economically. PTI COR HIG HIG
