Haryana CM pays tribute to Phule, lays foundation for new institutions

Kurukshetra, Apr 10 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday paid tributes to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his birth anniversary and praised the role of the Saini Shiksha Samiti in social upliftment.

Addressing a state-level function organised on Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jayanti at Babain in Kurukshetra district, he said the Saini community has always followed the values of hard work, honesty and service.

He described Phule and Savitribai Phule as an invaluable heritage of society.

The chief minister said Phule’s ideas and struggles gave a new direction to India’s social history, and such events help strengthen commitment towards education, equality and social awareness.

Saini laid the foundation stone of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Group of Institutions at Babain and announced a grant of Rs 51 lakh for it.

He said the institute would help in producing responsible citizens.

He said the government is committed to ensuring the benefits of development reach every section of society and reiterated its resolve to build an equal and just society.

Saini also urged people to promote education, remove social evils and work together with inclusivity.
