Mumbai, Apr 1 (PTI) Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has said that she had suffered from a throat ailment for a long time, which was cured after she received blessings from a “gurudev”.

Speaking at a public event in Borivali on Tuesday, Tawde said the throat-related issue troubled her for nearly two years despite undergoing medical treatment.

“My voice was not like this. I told Param Gurudev ji that I was taking medicines, but nothing was helping. I am in shock,” she said while addressing the gathering.

Tawde, who was elected in February as the 78th mayor of Mumbai, becoming the second BJP corporator to occupy the prestigious post in 44 years, was referring to a Jain priest The mayor claimed that her condition improved significantly after receiving the blessings and described it as a “big miracle”.

“He blessed me, and today I can speak in front of you… This truly feels like a miracle because I was in great distress. But you can hear my voice now,” she added.

At the same event, Maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who is also the guardian minister of Mumbai, claimed that Tawde first became a corporator after getting the blessings of the “gurudev”.

Lodha said BJP’s city chief Amit Satam told him that another “miracle” was Tawde’s elevation to the mayor’s post after meeting the gurudev and receiving the blessings of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Amit Shah. PTI KK NR
