New Delhi: Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said Saturday the government has decided to honour media houses for their contribution towards creating awareness about yoga.

He said 33 awards will be given 11 each for newspaper organisations, TV and radio channels.

A six-member jury will consider the entries in all 23 languages.

Media campaigns on yoga from June 10 to June 25 will be considered for International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21.

This year, the government has shortlisted Delhi, Shimla, Mysore, Ahmedabad and Ranchi to hold national programmes to mark the event.

Last year, the main event on International Day of Yoga was held at the ground of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated.

The first International Yoga Day was organised at Rajpath in New Delhi in 2015, in which representatives of 191 countries took part.

In 2016, the main function was held in Chandigarh and in 2017, it was held in Lucknow.

  1. Shameless this is… Infact shameless should not be the word to define such devils… I really can’t understand why these people are still alive… What are we waiting for… Is there anything left to watch or to hear…the country is ablazing in anger… We want justice… A justice that would leave a mark on those who dare to do this Shit . I pray for the little child…may her soul rest in peace… May the Lord give her family all the strength they require and may the authorities take a fast decision.

  2. There is only option to stop this brutal horrific crime that such criminals should be horrified by a very fast action against them. And they shouldn’t get an easy death. The law for such cases should be exactly tit for tat. They should be killed in the exactly way they killed or tortured the victim. And that also should get exposed on media. Personally i feel that only such action can save our country, our gals or may be us. Or else i am ashamed to be in such country where we are bound to treat such criminals like just a normal thief. HOW MANY MORE SACRIFICES OF US ARE REQUIRED TO BRING SUCH LAW IN ACTION??
