Itanagar, Apr 4 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd) on Saturday told photographers to capture and highlight the developmental strides of the state, saying such visual documentation would instil pride among people and create greater awareness about the government’s initiatives.
During a meeting with representatives of the Arunachal Photography Club at Lok Bhavan here, the governor also emphasised the importance of organising exhibitions that reflect the state’s developmental journey, an official communique said.
Parnaik said such platforms would not only celebrate historical progress but also create a meaningful dialogue between art, society and development.
The governor appreciated the dedication and vision of the club, noting that photography, beyond being an art form, serves as a powerful medium to document and preserve the state’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant traditions and the diversity of its flora, fauna and natural landscapes.
Earlier, Arunachal Photography Club president Radhe Natung and vice-president Takam Arun apprised the governor of the club’s ongoing initiatives.
They also briefed him about their upcoming photographic workshop-cum-exhibition, ‘The Platform’, aimed at providing a creative space for photographers to showcase their talent and perspectives.
Encouraging the club to expand its outreach, the governor advised its representatives to actively engage with students in schools and colleges and motivate them to take up photography as a hobby.
“Inspiring young minds through photography can foster creativity, awareness and a deeper connection with their surroundings,” Parnaik added. PTI UPL UPL RG
