Nee Delhi: The government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CSC eGovernance Services India Limited to leverage the services of the Common Services Centers (CSCs) in providing an online and integrated e Migrate service, a PIB press release stated.

The agreement aims to make the emigration process easier and faster for migrant workers by providing them with access to e Migrate services through CSCs. The services include the registration of applicants, uploading and processing of required documents, and booking for medical and other services required by migrant workers. The e Migrate project aims to assist mainly blue-collar workers going to Emigration Check Required (ECR) countries. It is expected to create a single platform where foreign employers, registered recruitment agents, and insurance companies can be brought together to promote safe and legal migration.
This will help in addressing the issues faced by migrant workers and also in strengthening the digital India initiative of the government. The signatories of the agreement include Joint Secretary (OE & PGE), Division, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Joint Secretary (DigiGov), MeitY, and Chief Operating Officer, CSC eGovernance Services India Limited. The government has expressed its commitment to expanding the channels of safe and legal migration through the use of CSCs. The move is expected to create greater opportunities for migrant workers and also help in preventing exploitation from unscrupulous elements.
