New Delhi: The Supreme Court Friday refused to interfere with the Election Commission’s order banning release of the biopic on PM Narendra Modi until May 19.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said it was not inclined to entertain the application filed by producers of biopic challenging the EC’s order.

“What survives in this now?” the bench, also comprising Justices Deepak Gupta and Sanjiv Khanna, said.

The counsel, appearing for producers, told the bench that the EC’s order is contrary to the clearance given to the movie by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

“The issue is whether the movie can be exhibited at this time. The Election Commission has taken a decision. We are not inclined to entertain this,” the bench said.

  1. Cast bais is there in every walk of life, be it in villeage, education institutions, IIT,IIM medical collages, but why Mr Raj took so many years to reaslisee it, It seems because of his elite family background, where they are not directly face it, one can understand how much cast bais is there in other govt / central / PSU services, we can not expect it to stop it, we have to come forward to expose it as soon as possible even at the cost of our service to ensure our next generation do not suffer,

  2. There is tough competition for promotion in higher cadre. So caste is not always a readon of not getting promotion in time but when we do not get anything we always blame others. Gen cat who were also in race and did not get whom they should blame .? ?

  3. Very true Mr.Raju. But have you ever thought about the children of general category when they’re denied entry into good schools and colleges due to heavy reservations and also even spite getting decent marks cannot qualify the civil services compared to the marks of reserved category candidates.
Please do think about their pain also.
    Thank you.
