Jaipur, Mar 23 (PTI) Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday alleged that several public welfare projects initiated during the Congress rule are being delayed under the current BJP government.
The senior Congress leader said since the BJP came to power in the state, it has slowed down projects and increased costs while depriving people of intended benefits.
Citing the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Sciences in Jaipur as an example, Gehlot said the institute’s building was completed in 2024 but has not been made operational so far.
Institutions should be developed for future generations rather than being held back due to political considerations, he said.
“The institute was established to provide international-level education and research opportunities in governance and social sciences for youth in the state,” he said.
The Congress leader also said that the institution was granted autonomous status through legislation to ensure it functions independently.
He urged the government to make the institute functional at the earliest and avoid delays in projects meant for public benefit. PTI SDA SKY SKY
