Jaipur, Mar 25 (PTI) The Meteorological Department has forecast fresh rain and thunderstorms in parts of Rajasthan over the weekend due to the activation of a new western disturbance, officials said on Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, the weather conditions across the state are expected to remain mainly dry for the next two to three days.

“Parts of border areas and the Shekhawati region may witness light clouds and isolated light rainfall on March 26-27,” an official said.

The department said that a fresh western disturbance is expected to become active between March 28 and 30, bringing thunderstorms and rain in several regions.

On March 28, districts in western Rajasthan, including Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions as well as Shekhawati, may experience gusty winds and rainfall.

The impact is expected to intensify on March 29-30, with wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur and Kota divisions, along with light to moderate rainfall at isolated places.

In the past 24 hours ending 8.30 am Wednesday, weather across the state remained dry. Barmer recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36.8 degrees Celsius, while Fatehpur in Sikar district registered the lowest minimum temperature at 14.1 degrees Celsius, the department said. PTI AG MPL MPL
