Mhow (MP), Apr 4 (PTI) At least four members of a family were injured after a stray dog attacked them at a village in Mhow tehsil of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place in Kewti village on Friday and a video of the incident went viral on Saturday.

“Some members of a family were chatting in the backyard of their house when a stray dog came towards them and suddenly attacked one of the members, identified as Faruq Patel. When the victim tried to scare away the aggressive dog using a chair, the canine pounced on him and bit him,” Kishanganj police station in charge Amit Kumar told PTI.

The video shows a white dog calmly coming towards the chair on which Faruq was sitting, and attacking him without any provocation. After that, the dog also bites the leg of another member of the family, who was sitting on a nearby bed.

The canine then runs behind another family member. But when Faruq hits the dog with the chair, he pounces on him, due to which the victim falls down. After that, the family members manage to scare away the dog by hitting him with a brick.

“All the injured persons were taken to the Mhow civil hospital, where they were given first aid and were vaccinated,” Kumar said.

Dr Mahendra Pathak of the civil hospital told PTI that anti-rabies vaccines were administered to all four victims and have been given next dates for further course of vaccine. PTI COR MAS NP
