New Delhi, Sep 11 (PTI) The three-day Business, Leisure, Travel and MICE (BLTM) 2025 exhibition, which started in the national capital on Thursday, aims to boost business and leisure travel while fostering global partnerships, Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said.
Mishra inaugurated the event at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka in the presence of several international and domestic representatives from the tourism and hospitality sectors.
“Delhi has been gifted several new tourist destinations under the Prime Minister’s initiative, and we are working to promote the capital as a hub of new opportunities. A branding campaign for Delhi Tourism will be launched soon,” he added.
Addressing the gathering, Mishra said, “We are planning to organise more such events in the coming days. It is really a big platform where we can collaborate with different states and nations and share multiple bonds.” He added that platforms like BLTM would strengthen India’s tourism sector and contribute towards making the country a global tourism powerhouse.
The event has drawn over 800 exhibitors and 15,000 trade buyers from 15 countries. Participants include tourism boards, hotels, airlines, event planners, and technology providers. International attendees from Asia, Europe, the Americas and other regions are also present.
Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing at the Israel Ministry of Tourism, said, “India is a big market for Israel, and we have many trade and investment activities taking place together.” Similarly, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, highlighted BLTM as a vital platform for tapping into the Indian market.
A dedicated Rural Tourism Showcase, the first globally recognised Meeting Fundamentals Certificate Course by Meeting Professionals International, and the Responsible Tourism Awards by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism are among the highlights of the event, according to a statement.
Mishra added that with the government’s focus on transforming tourism infrastructure, Delhi is poised to play a leading role in showcasing India’s cultural and business potential to the world.
As per the statement, BLTM 2025 brought together a diverse lineup of exhibitors, including international tourism boards and Convention Bureaus such as the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Israel – Ministry of Tourism, St. Petersburg Convention Bureau, Northern Finland, and Visit Oulu, as well as State Tourism Boards from Delhi, Odisha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya among others.
Additionally, several leading travel brands, including Treat Hotels & Resorts, Maitri Visa and Travel Service, Praveg Limited, The Paul Hotels & Resorts, Kesarbagh Palace, Ramoji Film City, Sajjan Bagh, Kumbhalgarh, The Zuri Hotels And Resorts, Dynamic London, and others are also participating.
