New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Wednesday gave air operator’s certificate (AOC) to Fly 91, a new airline from Goa.

This will allow the airline to soon start domestic flights.

The AOC is an authorisation that is must for an operator to carry out specified commercial air transport operations. An air operator receives AOC for commercial operations only after securing all the requisite no-objection certificates (NOC).

Last week, Fly 91 operated its first-ever flight, an ATR 72-600, from Mopa airport.

According to media reports, Fly 91 currently has two ATR-72 flights and is expected to procure four more by September this year.

Manoj Chacko, the airline’s founder, is an industry veteran with nearly three decades of experience in the aviation sector.
