Khunti (Jharkhand), Apr 3 (PTI) A 64-year-old woman was hacked to death in her sleep allegedly by a neighbour in Jharkhand’s Khunti district, leading to the arrest of the accused, with police saying that it was a fallout of a tussle between the two over drinking liquor.

A police official said the victim, Bhabhi Devi, had opposed her neighbour, Vishwanath Munda (32), abusing her in an inebriated state.

Angered by her objections, Munda hit her on the head with an axe while she was sleeping in her house in Burhadih village around 1 am on Thursday, the official said.

The accused has been arrested, and the axe has been recovered, police said. PTI BS NSD
