New Delhi: The remaining Class 10 and 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams will be held between 1 July and 15 July, Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced Friday.
While no exams will be held for Class 10 in any part of the country, except for northeast Delhi, Class 12 exams will be held in subjects like business studies, geography, Hindi, home science, sociology, computer science, information practice (old and new), information technology and bio-technology.
Exams for all these subjects had to be postponed in March after India began shutting down educational institutes and banned mass gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
On 1 April, the CBSE announced that exams will be held only in selected subjects in Class 10 and 12. The board left out languages like Punjabi, Urdu, Telugu and all other regional languages while deciding on a list.
While announcing the dates on Twitter, the HRD minister also asked students to keep calm and start preparing for the exams.

No exams for Class 10, except in northeast Delhi
The exams that will take place between 1-15 July will only be in those subjects that the CBSE has selected for Class 12.
For Class 10, students, except in northeast Delhi, do not need to write any exam. Class 10 exams in northeast Delhi had to be postponed because of the communal riots that broke out in the end of February.
According to senior officials in the HRD ministry, exam dates have been fixed in the first week of July because government wanted to finish board exams before Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) begin in the second half of July.
Dates for NEET and JEE have also been recently announced by the ministry.
JEE, meant for admission to engineering colleges, will take place from 18 July to 23 July, while NEET, which is a gateway to entry in medical colleges, will be held on 26 July.
