Tiruchirappalli, Mar 11 (PTI) AMMK chief TTV Dhinakaran on Wednesday hit back at Chief Minister MK Stalin for his “Assembly polls 2026 a fight between Tamil Nadu and Delhi,” jibe to attack the AIADMK-led alliance in the state and asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “shares umbilical cord ties” with Tamil Nadu.

Addressing the NDA rally here presided over by PM Modi, Dhinakaran said Stalin often claims that the Assembly polls to be held soon is a fight between Tamil Nadu and Delhi.

“We would like to tell him that PM can govern only from Delhi not from Chennai; Is the CM aware of this? Is he talking out of fear? It is not known,” he said.

Dhinakaran said though PM governed from Delhi, he belongs to Gujarat, which has links to Tamil Nadu since very ancient times.

Giving historical, Tamil literary references that speak of Dwaraka in Gujarat and the regime of ‘Velirs’ who ruled the western parts in ancient times, he said they also in later times ruled Tamil Nadu.

Dhinakaran lashed out at the DMK regime as anti-people and hailed PM Modi for continuing ancient links in modern times by way of his initiatives like the Kashi Tamil Sangamam. Hence, PM Modi shares “umbilical cord” relationship with Tamil Nadu, he added. Notably, Dhinakaran praised AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, his former archrival and foe, as “Pachai Tamilar” (Real Tamil). PTI VGN VGN SA
