Department of Posts celebrates National Sports Day

New Delhi: The Department of Posts organised a series of sports events were organised across postal circles nationwide to celebrate National Sports Day 2024, a PIB release stated.

Employees of the Department of Posts actively engaged in a range of outdoor and indoor activities, including volleyball, carrom, chess, tug of war, and plank contest. The events were designed to promote a sense of camaraderie, teamwork, and inclusiveness among the employees.

The Fit India Pledge was also taken by all postal employees across the country as in alignment with the Fit India Movement. According to the release, this is a part of the Department’s efforts to encourage a healthy lifestyle among its workforce. In addition to this, the department has also played a significant role in recognizing India’s sports heritage through philately. The department has released numerous commemorative stamps on themes of the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and legendary athletes, which has inspired the athletes to play.
