Delhi records maximum temperature of 34.7 deg C on Sunday, AQI ‘moderate’

New Delhi, Apr 12 (PTI) The maximum temperature in the city on Sunday reached 34.7 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The city recorded the minimum temperature at 20.2 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notches below the seasonal average, it stated.

At 4.30 pm, wind speeds reached up to 37 kilometres per hour, particularly over Palam. The IMD noted that these wind conditions are likely to continue for several hours.

The weather department has predicted strong surface winds during the day on Monday, with expected temperatures reaching around 37 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 20 degrees Celsius for the minimum.

Relative humidity was noted at 29 per cent at 5.30 pm.

The air quality was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category at 9 am, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 163, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.

According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’. PTI SHB MPL MPL
