Delhi logs hottest morning this year as minimum settles at 20.4 degrees Celsius

New Delhi, Mar 13 (PTI) Delhi woke up to the hottest morning this year as the minimum temperature settled at 20.4 degrees Celsius on Friday, 5.3 degrees above the season’s normal, according to the India Meteorological Department.

On the air quality front, the AQI stood in the ‘poor’ category with a reading of 200 at 9 am.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 34 degrees Celsius, with a forecast of partly cloudy sky.

Station-wise data showed that Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 18.4 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees above normal. Lodhi Road recorded 19.2 degrees Celsius, 5.2 degrees above normal, while Ridge logged 19 degrees Celsius, 3.1 degrees above normal.

Ayanagar recorded a minimum temperature of 19.8 degrees Celsius, 5.1 degrees above normal.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) SAMEER app, 18 stations were in the ‘poor’ category, while 26 stations were in the ‘moderate’ category.

According to the CPCB classification, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’. PTI MSJ SGV DV DV
