New Delhi, Mar 19 (PTI) Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Thursday emphasised the need to strengthen last-mile connectivity for Metro commuters.

In a post on X, Sandhu said he travelled on the Metro and had interactions with fellow residents, describing the system as a reliable mode of public transport in the city.

He said that the Delhi Metro stands as a strong example of how efficient and well-functioning public transport can help address several urban challenges.

On Wednesday, the LG met the managing director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) at Lok Niwas and reviewed the progress of the Metro network in the national capital.

During the meeting, Sandhu was briefed on the ongoing developments and expansion of the network, officials said.

He underlined the importance of improving last-mile connectivity from Metro stations to nearby residential and commercial areas to enhance convenience and accessibility for commuters.

The LG stressed that better integration of feeder services and local transport options would help increase Metro ridership and make daily travel smoother for residents. PTI SHB SHB KSS KSS
