New Delhi, Mar 27 (PTI) Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited a temple in Model Town in north Delhi on the occasion of Ram Navami, and recalled his student days at Delhi University spent in the area during an impromptu tour of the locality, officials said on Friday.
The L-G offered prayers at the temple on Thursday, seeking blessings of Lord Ram, an official statement said.
Sandhu then made a round of the nearby market and lanes, recalling the area’s connection with his student days at St Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
The L-G also savoured street food, including ‘chaat’ and ‘bhalla’, and interacted with the locals and shopkeepers, many of whom were taken by surprise by the L-G’s impromptu visit.
Sandhu also inquired about civic issues, saying direct feedback from citizens is valuable for guiding government agencies, the statement said.
