Nagpur, Apr 8 (PTI) Several customers created a ruckus at a gas depot in the Nara area of Nagpur city after receiving false delivery messages on Wednesday.

Police said around 25 to 30 customers received SMS alerts claiming their LPG cylinders had been delivered. However, the customers said they had not received any cylinders. Angry over this, they gathered at the gas depot near the Nara crematorium and confronted the owner.

The situation turned tense for some time as customers demanded immediate delivery. On receiving information, a team from Jaripatka police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

After holding talks with the depot owner, the police ensured that cylinders were distributed to customers based on availability. The process was carried out under police supervision.

Police also denied rumours that the depot was looted and appealed to citizens not to spread false information. PTI COR NSK
