New Delhi: Had Nepal been part of India, there would have been peace and happiness in the country, said Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary over the recent protests in Nepal.
Speaking to the media on the current situation in Nepal, Choudhary blamed the Congress. “All this is the Congress’ mistake. There is anarchy because Congress has kept these countries separate. If Nepal had been a part of India today, there would have been peace and happiness in Nepal,” he said while responding to a question on what precautions India was taking.
Chaudhary said that while there can be discontent among people, there should be no place for anarchy. Chaudhary was also asked about the role of social media and whether some guidelines need to be put out, to which he said, “No, No. See, there can be discontent among people but there should not be anarchy. I said that if it were a part of India today, Nepal would also have prospered. If Pakistan were a part of India, it would have prospered along with India today. I am making it clear that this is the mistake of Congress due to which we have to face this,” he explained further.
The streets of Nepal witnessed protests over economic disparity and corruptions, ending in the resignation of K.P. Sharma Oli. Kathmandu is now under indefinite curfew.
While condoling the loss of lives in the Nepal protests, the Ministry of External Affairs had on Tuesday advised Indian nationals in Nepal to exercise caution and adhere to the steps and guidelines issued by the authorities in the neighbouring country.
