Shimla, April 6 (PTI) BJP state president Rajeev Bindal on Monday launched an attack on the Congress-led state government, saying it has failed on all fronts and the people of Himachal Pradesh are deeply distressed.

Addressing party workers at the ongoing two-day state executive meeting in Mandi, Bindal said the BJP has resolved to launch a mass movement to oust the corrupt, anti-people, and authoritarian government.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state has witnessed only suffering, hardship and misgovernance over the past three years, he said.

“It is clear that the present Congress government has failed on all fronts and the people of Himachal Pradesh are deeply distressed,” he added.

Bindal also alleged that unemployed youth in the state are struggling for jobs as government recruitment has virtually stalled, leading to widespread frustration. Government employees are also facing hardships due to delays in salaries, while retired employees are forced to protest on the streets for their rightful dues, he said.

He further accused the Congress government of betraying lakhs of women by failing to fulfil its promise of providing Rs 1,500, which has led to growing anger among them.

“Not only this, but farmers in the state are also distressed while the common man is reeling under rising prices and heavy taxation,” he added.

“This government believes not in relief, but in burdening people with tax after tax. It is clear that “mafia raj” has taken over the state, with mining, forest and land mafias operating freely under government patronage. This is no longer a people’s government, but a government for mafias,” the BJP state unit president said.

Bindal asserted that BJP workers will take to the streets across the state and expose the Congress government’s policies before the people. PTI COR OZ OZ
