College student dies after leaning out of bus window in Andhra

Annampalli (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 28 (PTI) A college student died on Wednesday after suffering a head injury when an iron rod struck him as he leaned out of a bus window in Konaseema district, police said.

The student was travelling in an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus from Lakshmidevi Lanka village to Amalapuram when the incident occurred.

Police said the boy reportedly leaned out of the window to spit and struck his head against an iron rod, resulting in a severe head injury.

The injury proved fatal, and he died on the spot, police told PTI.

According to police, he was a first-year student at a private college in Amalapuram.

Police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway. PTI MS STH SSK
