Beed, Apr 12 (PTI) Beed Collector Vivek Johnson inspected various spots in Wadwani, Dharur and Parli tehsils in the district to clear bottlenecks in land acquisition for railway works by listening to grievances of stakeholders, officials said on Sunday.
Work on the ambitious Beed-Parli Vaijnath railway corridor project is underway, which is seen as a gamechanger for the district and the region as it will connect to Mumbai and Pune, two of Maharashtra’s largest cities and mega economic hubs of the country.
During the field visit, Johnson, accompanied by railway, district and state officials, reviewed locations in Bavi and Lonwal villages in Wadwani tehsil and technical issues associated with them that had stalled land acquisition, the official said.
“The collector looked into grievances raised by residents of Deodahiphal, Chatgaon and Fakir Jawala villages in Dharur tehsil. He visited Parli, Khamgaon, Tapovan, Mulnatpur, Bahadurwadi, Tokwadi and Brahmwadi and interacted with farmers and affected citizens,” the official said.
With the resolution of land-related concerns and technical constraints, authorities confirmed the right-of-way required for the railway alignment has now been cleared, paving the way for uninterrupted execution of the project.
Johnson asked railways to complete critical technical works of the project by May 15 before the onset of monsoon, the official added.
“This railway line is crucial for the overall development of Beed district. Minor land-related obstacles have been resolved on the spot, and the railway administration must now expedite work within the stipulated timeframe,” Johnson said.
