Jaipur, Apr 13 (PTI) Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday visited the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadra in the Balotra district and reviewed arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on April 21.

Sharma said it would be a proud moment for the state as the prime minister is scheduled to inaugurate the country’s first integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra on April 21.

“The refinery will make both the country and the state self-reliant in the energy sector and give a new direction to Rajasthan’s industrial development,” he said.

The chief minister inspected key units, including the crude distillation unit and the refinery’s main control room, and interacted with officials to understand the operations.

He said the project would strengthen the state’s economy and generate significant employment opportunities for the local youth. The prime minister is also expected to address a public gathering on the occasion.

Sharma inspected the venue of the proposed public meeting and directed officials to complete arrangements on time, with special focus on security.

He later held a meeting with officials to review preparations for the event and gave necessary instructions to officials for its smooth execution.

Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat, Minister of State for Industries K K Bishnoi, BJP state president Madan Rathore, Chief Secretary V Srinivas and DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma were also present during the visit. PTI SDA — MNK MNK
