The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under the Ministry of Ayush, will organise a one-day national consultative meet on Research Priority Settings in Traditional Medicine on June 24, 2024, in New Delhi.
This event will bring together representatives from various sectors of traditional medicine including policymakers, researchers, patients, and industry stakeholders with an aim to identify and prioritise key research areas in diverse traditional medicine systems such as Arya, Siddha, Unani, and Homeopathy, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said in a statement.
The meet will also chart a research roadmap for the next decade in collaboration with the World Health Organisation-South-East Asia Regional office (WHO-SEARO) and WHO-GTMC (Global Tradional Medicine Center).
The press statement added that the purpose of this exercise is to ensure the effective utilisation of funds and address the critical areas of need in traditional medicine which would pave the way for its global acceptance and integration.
The government has designated the National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage (NIIMH) as a WHO Collaborating Center for Fundamental and Literary Research in Traditional Medicine (WHOCC IND-177) in a bid to strengthen the research capacity of traditional medicine in India and promote its global acceptance.
