New Delhi: Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi was critical of the CBI, saying it was failing to meet the standards of judicial scrutiny in politically sensitive cases.

Delivering the key note address at the DP Kohli Memorial Lecture, organised after a gap of two years, Gogoi minced no words in pointing out the flaws and strengths of the agency and offered advice for the way forward.

The lecture is organised annually by the CBI in memory of its founder-director, D.P. Kohli, who was the head of investigative agency from 1955 to 1968.
