Boy killed, four injured after bus runs over them in Karnataka’s Haveri

Haveri (Karnataka), Apr 1 (PTI) A two-and-half-year-old boy was killed and four others were injured after the driver of a government transport bus here allegedly ran over them at the bus stand on Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred at the Haveri bus stand at around 7 am, they said.

The deceased was identified as Hazrat Ali, police said.

Police said the bus driver was trying to park the vehicle on the platform when the incident occurred. The bus was scheduled to travel from Haveri to Lakshmeshwar.

The boy died on the way to the hospital while those injured were treated and later discharged, a senior police officer said.

A case has been registered against the driver, police said, adding that further investigation is underway. PTI AMP KH
