New Delhi: Mahesh Baghel (65), former Agra BJP president, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday when his health condition started to deteriorate. Unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead on arrival at the city’s Pushpanjali Hospital.

As his family was preparing for his cremation on Monday, Baghel miraculously regained consciousness, astonishing everyone.

On Sunday night, the former district president’s health deteriorated. After a thorough physical examination, doctors declared the politician dead, citing organ failure as the cause. The family members were told that not much could be done and it was better to take him home, reported Hindustan Times.

Baghel was brought back to his residence, but approximately 30 minutes after he was declared dead, there was movement in his body. Shocked, the relatives rushed him to New Agra Hospital, where the doctors pronounced Baghel to be alive.

Baghel’s brother, Lakhan Singh Baghel, told the media that the doctors at the hospital had diagnosed the politician with a chest infection. He also said that Baghel’s blood pressure is now at 114/70 and that he is on his way to a speedy recovery.

Baghel’s sons, Abhishek and Ankit Baghel, have described the experience of witnessing their father regain consciousness as ‘surreal.’

On hearing the news about the politician’s demise, a huge crowd reportedly gathered around his residence, including party workers and other relatives.

The news quickly circulated through social media, prompting an outpouring of condolences and tributes for the former leader. At present, individuals are extending their hopes and wishes for his swift recovery.
